Beyond the Spiritual and Gospel Song: A look at music written by African-American composers suitable for the traditional church service of any denomination. This workshop will include examples of some spirituals and gospel songs indicative of the African-American sacred music tradition but will also explore some lesser-known examples written in the 20th Century.
